Second Sunday Series Wraps Up

Wit & Whimzy and Clutch Collective MOV are hosting their final Second Sunday Pop-Up of the season this Sunday, August 9th. After successful events in June and July, the series’ wrap up will coincide with the Rivers, Trails and Ales Festival in downtown Marietta.
Second Sunday will take place from noon to 4:00 pm, transforming one corner of downtown Marietta into a vibrant outdoor marketplace featuring local and regional artists, live music, and community gathering. Artists will be set up on the sidewalk in front of the shops on the 100 block of Front Street.
Adam Weaver, owner and artist behind Appalachian Weird, has attended the last two events as a shopper and is looking forward to setting up as an artist this weekend. “I’m always excited to come out and meet people and showcase my art, but these events are special,” he said. “We’re creating a community of artists and businesses that you just don’t have anywhere else in the Mid-Ohio Valley.”
The event will feature a diverse lineup of artists and makers. Local artists include Adam Weaver of Appalachian Weird, Julie Harding, owner of Forever Caroline, and author Kathy Elasky.
They will be joined by Hillary Eden, a ceramicist in Lancaster, OH whose art business is Good Things & Co., Nichole Westfall, a painter and muralist based in Huntington, WV, and Cynthia McComas of The Brass Era in Charleston, WV. “We’re excited to celebrate small businesses and enjoy being in Marietta!” said Westfall.
Visitors can also enjoy live music from Kyle Lockhart as well as refreshments from SIPS Coffee Truck.
“These events have been so much fun to host,” said Sarah Arnold, owner of Clutch Collective. “We dreamed up these Second Sunday Pop-Ups as a fun way to support artists and bring people downtown on a Sunday. We hope to bring the series back next summer!”
The community is invited to shop local, discover new artists, enjoy live music and delightful drinks, and celebrate creativity in downtown Marietta this Sunday, August 9th.
